Get-together held for foreign defense attachés to Vietnam ahead of Tet
PANO – On January 23, in Hanoi, the Department of Foreign Relations of the Ministry of National Defense held a get-together with foreign defense attachés to Vietnam on the occasion of the Lulnar New Year (Tet) 2025.
Speaking at the event, Major General Bui Trong Hieu, Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Relations, emphasized that in 2024, with the support of defense attachés, military attachés, service attachés, and representatives of international defense cooperation agencies in Vietnam, the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense successfully carried out various international integration and defense diplomacy activities. These efforts yielded practical and substantive outcomes.

He expressed his hope that in the new year, they would continue to serve as reliable bridges, fostering cooperation between Vietnam, the Vietnam People’s Army, and the countries and armed forces.

Colonel Mick Jansen, Australian Defense Attaché and head of the foreign military attaché corps in Vietnam, thanked the Vietnamese Department of Foreign Relations in particular and the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense in general for their support and cooperation over the past time, while hoping to work more closely with Vietnam in 2025 to achieve further successes, promote regional peace and stability, and realize a future of opportunities and cooperation.
