Under the Ministry of National Defense’s directive on upgrading the cemeteries dedicated to Chinese soldiers and advisors with contribution to the Vietnamese revolution, Dong Bac Corporation is responsible for upgrading four cemeteries, two in Lang Son province, one in Ha Nam province and  one in Quang Ninh province.

The cemetery in Minh Son commune, Huu Lung district, Lang Son province  covering an area of 3,300 sq.m is the rest-in-peace place of 94 Chinese martyrs.

At the event, Gen. Chien emphasized that more than 50 years ago, alongside the Vietnamese military and people, the soldiers of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army heroically sacrificed themselves for the salvation cause of Vietnam. This contributed to deepening the friendship of the two countries who are both comrades and brothers.

The defense leader asked the construction unit to strive to complete its task, ensuring the progress, quality and aesthetics of the renovated structure.

Earlier, on the afternoon of March 2, Gen. Chien and the MND delegation inspected the cemetery embellishment project in Chi Lang ward, Lang Son city.

He urged the MND’s relevant agencies to work closely with the Chinese MND to make thorough preparations in all aspects to ensure a respectful and solemn reception for relatives of the fallen Chinese volunteer troops.
