Banquet held for military attachés on Vietnam’s 80th National Day
PANO - The Ministry of National Defense (MND) hosted a banquet on August 25 in Hanoi, for defense attachés, military attachés, service attachés of various countries, as well as experts and representatives of several international organizations in Vietnam, as part of the events to mark the 80th anniversary of the National Day.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of National Defense Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien recalled Vietnam’s proud 80-year journey, emphasizing that at every stage of the nation’s development, the country received valuable support, sincere friendship, and effective cooperation from international partners and friends. He affirmed that Vietnam in general, and the Vietnam People’s Army in particular, will always remain a faithful and sincere friend, a reliable partner, and a responsible member of the international community.

He expressed confidence that with trust, sincerity, and goodwill for cooperation, the MND, defense ministries of other countries, and international organizations will continue to strengthen friendship and foster effective collaboration, contributing to bringing about even greater achievements on the development path of each nation.
Speaking on behalf of the foreign military attachés in Vietnam, Colonel Mick Jansen, Australian Defense Attaché and Head of the Military Attachés Corps in Vietnam, extended his warmest congratulations to the Government, armed forces, and people of Vietnam on the occasion of the country’s 80th National Day.

Colonel Jansen noted that Vietnam today plays an important role in both regional and global security. He highlighted the professionalism and dedication of the Vietnam People’s Armed Forces, from defending the Fatherland to conducting disaster relief at home and abroad, as well as participating in United Nations peacekeeping operations. He stressed that such contributions not only demonstrate Vietnam’s enduring commitment to its own independence, but also reaffirm its responsibility to the international community in ensuring a safe and stable region.
