Viettel to build the largest data center in Vietnam
PANO – The Military Industry-Telecoms Group (Viettel) has announced a plan to build the largest data center in Vietnam with the total investment of VND 6 trillion.
The project is part of an investment memorandum of understanding between Viettel and Hoc Mon and Cu Chi districts signed at a recent conference on investment promotion in the two districts of Ho Chi Minh City presided over by State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

According to the agreement, Viettel will work with the two districts to promote digital transformation in terms of digital infrastructure, digital government, digital economy, and digital society.
On digital infrastructure, by 2025 the military business will have invested in 4G and 5G infrastructure to cover broadband services for 100% of the population.
Regarding the digital government, the group will offer smart operating center services and a shared data center system for the operation of local authorities.
With regard to the digital economy, Viettel will work with local authorities to achieve the target to help 100% of businesses use digital management platforms, electronic contracts, and digital signatures.
In terms of digital society, the group will work to ensure that all residents in Hoc Mon and Cu Chi districts can use smartphones and electronic payment accounts.
At the signing ceremony of the agreement, Viettel's Chairman and General Director Senior Colonel Tao Duc Thang presented 200 gratitude houses to heroic Vietnamese mothers, policy families, and needy households in Hoc Mon and Cu Chi districts.
