Viettel deploys additional 500 5G stations. |
Comprehensive plan
Viettel Networks, an affiliate of Viettel Group, stated that demands for livestreaming, video calls, and uploading high-quality photos and videos will be high during the upcoming grand parade on September 2, as well as firework displays and other major cultural events. Therefore, Viettel's mission is to ensure that people can capture and share these moments seamlessly.
To ensure uninterrupted service, Viettel Networks has deployed over 2,400 technical solutions, including 500 newly installed 5G stations, 700 temporary stations, and 25 mobile stations. Notably, for the first time in Vietnam, the company is installing 1,200 smallcell 5G stations in high-density areas.

With thousands of 5G stations, Viettel ensures smooth 5G coverage in all areas where Mission A80 events take place. |
With its existing and additional 5G stations, Viettel will increase internet capacity and speed in crowded areas while offloading traffic from the 4G network, providing users with a better experience.
Viettel is the only provider of both 5G SA and 5G NSA technologies. 5G SA is a fully independent network that delivers ultra-low latency of around 1ms and superior performance compared to 5G NSA, with speeds up to 10 times faster than 4G.
AI-powered load balancing and coverage optimization
For the first time, Viettel Networks engineers are using AI to predict future demand. Based on event schedules, airline ticket sales, hotel bookings, social media posts, and other relevant data, AI models forecast the most crowded locations, peak times, and user movements. This ensures network resources are allocated optimally.
The X-Optimization (XO) system, combined with AI, fine-tunes network quality based on customer behavior. The system constantly monitors the network and performs near real-time adjustments. Every five minutes, AI automatically recalibrates coverage areas and beam directions to match user locations while minimizing interference in surrounding areas. If a station shows signs of overload, the system instantly redirects users to nearby stations with available capacity.

With thousands of stations, manual adjustments would be impossible. AI, via the XO platform, acts as the intelligent force that keeps the infrastructure in sync, delivering the best service quality and ensuring a smooth experience for attendees of the Mission A80 events.
With these capabilities, Viettel is ready to help the public share historic moments before, during, and after this year's celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day.
