Viettel supports poor district in Thanh Hoa
PANO - The Military Industry-Telecoms Group Viettel held a groundbreaking ceremony to build a primary school and a medical clinic in Ba Thuoc district, Thanh Hoa province on November 9.
This was part of the company’s practical activities to realize the Government’s Resolution 30A on assisting needy localities.
Also at the event, Viettel handed over nearly VND 18 billion in cash to help the district carry out social welfare programs during the 2019-2020 period, such as building new gratitude houses and handing over breeding cattle and seedlings to needy households, constructing schools and public facilities, and purchasing medical and educational equipment.
Lo Van Thang, Deputy Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ba Thuoc district, has highly appreciated Viettel’s great support over the past time.
For the past nine years, the group has financed the district with VND 80 billion, helping the locality reduce poverty, he added.
Meanwhile, Deputy Political Chief of Viettel Can Long Giang held that once operational, the school and medical clinic will benefit local people and the district’s education and healthcare sectors.
Since 2009, Viettel has spent over VND 300 billion on supporting the three districts of Muong Lat and Ba Thuoc of Thanh Hoa province and Dakrong of Quang Tri province under the Government’s Resolution 30A as well as the group’s own social welfare programs.
