During Phase 1, Viettel invested in infrastructure, installed and commissioned equipment, and established production lines, gradually bringing the facility into operation. Building on these achievements, Phase 2 will focus on completing the infrastructure and equipment, expanding production scale, and increasing manufacturing capacity. The group is also prioritizing human resource development, particularly its engineering workforce, to strengthen capabilities in research, design, manufacturing, and product improvement in support of national defense requirements.
Speaking at the ceremony, General Phan Van Giang commended Viettel and relevant agencies for closely coordinating with ministries and central agencies and Thai Nguyen province to prepare for the timely launch of Phase 2.
To ensure the project is completed on schedule and meets quality, technical, and safety requirements, General Phan Van Giang urged Viettel to uphold its sense of responsibility and strictly comply with construction regulations. He called for the mobilization of personnel and modern equipment, the selection and adoption of appropriate technologies, and the construction of an integrated, modern facility. He also stressed the need to ensure absolute occupational safety and environmental protection without affecting local residents' lives, while managing and using investment funds efficiently and resolutely preventing losses, waste, and misconduct.
The defense leader urged the Ministry of National Defense (MND)'s relevant agencies to closely coordinate with ministries, sectors, and local authorities to provide timely guidance and resolve difficulties and obstacles. He also called on Thai Nguyen province to continue supporting the project and creating favorable conditions for its implementation, particularly by ensuring sufficient land, so that it can proceed on schedule.
General Phan Van Giang expressed confidence that, building on the achievements and experience gained during Phase 1, Viettel would construct a fully integrated, modern facility under Phase 2, marking a new step forward in defense industrial manufacturing capacity. The project is expected to contribute to the development of a self-reliant, self-sufficient, resilient, dual-use, and modern defense industry, meeting the requirements of military modernization in the new situation.
