Viettel strengthens its communications infrastructure in Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago
PANO - The Military-Run Industry and Telecommunication Group (Viettel) has completed its tasks of securing network and strengthening communications infrastructure in Truong Sa (Spratly) Archipelago ahead of this Tet (Lunar New Year Festival).
Accordingly, Viettel completed its mission of strengthening the network in the Truong Sa (Spratly) Archipelago, supporting troops and people on the islands to have a warm Tet festival. The tasks included repairing and replacing generators, wires and solar batteries; and building a base transceiver stations (BTS). Viettel also transported more than 20 tons of materials to 11 islands.
The recent typhoon caused great damages to the infrastructure of the telecommunication network in Truong Sa islands and the DK1 platforms. In order to ensure its communication infrastructure, a 12-member delegation of Viettel on January 8 came to Truong Sa islands to carry out the mission.
