Training activities at Viettel Post have improved since its E-learning network was set up. Instead of going to a training or refresher course, mailmen can self-arrange their learning time and can self-study with the aid of the E-learning network, which is frequently updated with new information and knowledge.

The lessons in the network are designed to facilitate the workers’ self-learning by giving various practical situations and examples, which make it easier for them to remember and apply the acquired knowledge and expertise into their everyday work.

Recently, Viettel Post opened an online five-day training course with a new application software (OPS), facilitating business and management activities at Viettel Post, for 14 post offices of its branch in Hai Ba Trung district, Hanoi.

It also trained 300 newly-recruited employees in such expertise and skills as sales, customer service and business in the postal industry.

Earlier, Viettel Post had made five-minute video clips to provide instructions on daily working procedures and regulations of various types of the post business. This had helped Viettel Post’s officials and workers, particularly newly-employed ones, understand their jobs, better and work more efficiently.

Alongside reading useful references and dealing with scenarios from the database, the company’s officials and workers can watch video clips and act on the movements of the models on the video.

The Training Office of the company has also developed a specific training program for leaders of its branches and subordinate units. This includes eight sections, involving business management, business operation, management of revenue and debts.

Over the past years, the leadership of Viettel Post has determined that the company should focus on developing software with professional training programs and textbooks, as well as regulations and sanctions to ensure the quality of training. They also want to design a specific online training program for each working position at the company so as to economize the training costs but the company’s officials and workers can still learn up-to-date knowledge and skills.

Alongside providing expertise and knowledge of post business for their officials and workers, the company, in coordination with the Military Insurance Joint-Stock Company (MIC), organizes online training courses on insurance business for its officials and workers. After the courses, the trained officials and workers can sell MIC’s policies while they deliver mails and parcels. Moreover, Viettel Post and MIC have agreed to purchase each other’s products, boosting both companies’ development.

In the current context, the economy is changing quickly, which requires a company to continuously spread new knowledge and expertise to their officials and workers. To deal with this issue, Viettel Post often updates its online training program, helping its basic branches hold the initiative in organizing refresher courses for their staff members.

According to figures, the number of visits at Viettel Post’s E-learning website continually increases as its online training programs are not only useful and helpful, but also interesting and user-friendly.

Viettel Post’s E-learning has indeed changed traditional mindset and practice in education and training; but thanks to the changes, the company’s officials and workers acquire more knowledge and expertise, and thus work more effectively and efficiently while saving time and money for both the company and its employees.
