Speaking at the launch ceremony on August 19, Viettel IDC Director Le Ba Tan said that Cambodia’s data center and cloud computing industry is still in its early stages but is poised for rapid growth. With a young population, stable economy, high Internet penetration, and the Royal Government’s strong commitment to digital transformation, the country is considered one of the most promising digital infrastructure markets in Southeast Asia.

According to him, Vcloudia marks the first step in Viettel IDC’s cloud internationalization journey, tailor-made for Cambodia based on proven technologies and expertise in Vietnam. The brand not only provides technology infrastructure but also represents Viettel IDC’s long-term commitment to accompanying Cambodia’s digital economy development, just as the company has supported Vietnam over the past two decades. Built on the foundation of close friendship and trust between the two countries, these commitments will be realized to bring tangible value to the Cambodian government, enterprises, and communities.

In the coming time, Viettel IDC and Qualcomm will jointly deploy artificial intelligence (AI) solutions customized for Cambodian businesses, enabling data utilization, operational optimization, and the development of new business models. Thieu Phuong Nam, General Director of Qualcomm Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos, stressed that the partnership aims to unlock the potential of Cambodia’s digital infrastructure and contribute to building an inclusive digital future.

According to ICT industry reports, Cambodia’s demand for digital infrastructure has been growing at a double-digit rate annually, particularly in banking, e-commerce, logistics, education, and e-government. Research by Ipsos forecasts that its cloud computing market will reach 371 million USD by 2027, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 17.1%.
