Deputy Minister of National Defense Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam attended the ceremony.
Song Thu Corporation is one of Viet Nam’s leading shipbuilding and ship repair enterprises. Over the past 50 years, it has built and repaired numerous modern military and civilian vessels, contributing to maritime sovereignty protection, the development of the marine economy, and national construction and defense. Under the leadership of the Central Military Commission (CMC) and the Ministry of National Defense (MND), the corporation has promoted innovation, mastered advanced technologies, and strengthened its production capabilities.
Song Thu was the first enterprise in Viet Nam to independently design and manufacture a floating dock with a lifting capacity of 1,500 tons, later upgraded to 2,000 tons. It also invested in Syncrolift platform technology and partnered with Dutch shipbuilding group Damen to master modern shipbuilding technologies. In addition to serving domestic customers, the corporation has exported vessels to Europe, South America, the United Arab Emirates, Russia, Australia, France, New Zealand, and other markets.
