Viettel’s booth was the largest at the fair, bringing together products and services from Metfone and other Viettel entities under the message “Global Technology for a Sustainable Future.” The exhibits are organized around the needs of three target groups: businesses, government agencies and the public, enabling visitors and partners to explore how the technologies could be applied in different fields.

For corporate customers, artificial intelligence applications focus on customer service, information retrieval, access to internal information, integration of communication channels and automation of selected operational tasks. A notable solution in the enterprise segment is Private 5G, a dedicated 5G network tailored to individual customers, offering high bandwidth, low latency and enhanced security. It enables businesses to automate production lines, connect large numbers of IoT devices and control equipment in real time within factories, seaports, airports and logistics centers, without relying on public networks.

In logistics, Viettel showcases two transport drone models developed by Viettel Post, each with a maximum payload capacity of 50kg. The drones can carry goods, food, medicines and essential supplies, making them particularly suitable for search-and-rescue operations in remote areas and locations with difficult access. They were presented alongside Metfone Express, a delivery service launched in June 2026 that currently has 1,000 service points and 300,000 customers.

For government agencies, smart operations solutions and the AI-powered Traffic Camera system demonstrate how data can be used to monitor conditions, recognize license plates, detect violations, support inter-agency coordination and improve urban management. In education, the School Information System (SIS) and Learning Management System (LMS) are serving nearly 400 schools across 25 provinces and cities, reaching more than 400,000 teachers and students.

Meanwhile, digital connectivity and financial services, including the TV360 by Metfone entertainment application and the eMoney e-wallet, cater to people’s everyday communication and transaction needs. Cybersecurity solutions from Viettel Cyber Security help protect activities in the digital environment. Viettel also introduces wind and solar power solutions, creating additional opportunities for dialogue and cooperation in the energy sector.

The presentation of this ecosystem at the fair reflects Viettel’s strategy to expand its operations in Cambodia. Metfone’s infrastructure, customer network and implementation experience provide a foundation for connecting the group’s technological solutions with the market’s practical needs.

Strengthening Viet Nam-Cambodia cooperation

After 17 years of providing services in Cambodia, Metfone has become the country’s leading mobile network operator, with more than 10 million mobile subscribers and over 45 per cent of the market share. Its network comprises more than 6,000 base stations and nearly 40,000km of fiber-optic cables, covering 99 per cent of the population - a level of coverage achieved by few markets in the region.

In 2025, Metfone’s revenue exceeded USD 500 million. Since its establishment, the company has contributed more than USD 1.4 billion to Cambodia’s state budget, placing it among the country’s five largest tax contributors.

Building on its telecommunications foundation, Metfone has expanded into digital services and worked with Cambodian ministries and agencies to roll out school internet connectivity, education information management systems, digital healthcare applications and the Metfone Express delivery service. These initiatives form part of the company’s strategic direction for 2026-2030. Through its participation in the VIDEX 2026, Metfone is showcasing its capabilities, learning about market needs and seeking cooperation opportunities, while emphasizing legal compliance, effective governance and responsible development.

During a visit and working session with Metfone, Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Quang Ngoc described the company as a notable example of the positive cooperation between the governments and militaries of Viet Nam and Cambodia. He acknowledged that Metfone was gradually transforming from a telecommunications operator into a technology company providing digital services across multiple sectors, in line with emerging development trends.

To build on these achievements, the defense leader called on Metfone to continue innovating and regularly reviewing its business strategy to respond swiftly to the new situation. He also urged the company to keep investing in new technologies and develop into a multi-sector enterprise, with telecommunications remaining its core business alongside other fields, helping drive digital transformation across all aspects for the Government and people in Cambodia.
