Social responsibility-an integral cultural goodness of MB, says MB Deputy CEO
PANO - The Military Commercial Joint-Stock Bank (MB)’s leadership has always considered corporate social and charitable activities, gratitude-repaying activities and the like for community the responsibility of every MB cadre, Party member, officer, soldier, worker and the staff as a whole.
In an interview granted to the People’s Army Newspaper, Deputy CEO and MB Party Committee’s Secretary, Senior Colonel Do Van Hung said that the bank’s social activities have been carried for many years and now become one of its good cultural features.

According to Senior Colonel Do Van Hung, the bank has been concentrating on educating its Party members, youth organization members and all staffers to raise the sense of responsibility for the community and their compassion for disadvantaged people. In return, these social welfare activities themselves have helped promote MB’s trademark and image.
In 2016 alone, MB spent hundreds of billions of VND on social welfare programs. The bank was the only sponsor of the park named after legendary General Vo Nguyen Giap, built by the Naval Command at a cost of VND 10 billion.
Also in 2016, it built and presented dozens of houses to families of martyrs, wounded soldiers and troops with adversity in life. It also contributed considerable amount of money to the Gratitude Fund of the Ministry of National Defense; funded the Association on Supporting Martyrs’ Families; gifted heavily wounded soldiers cared at the Long Dat Convalescent Center; built schools for students in disadvantaged localities and supported people in the Central region badly affected by natural disasters.
Regarding his unforgettable trip in 2016, Hung said that he and 20 other MB staffers had working visits to Truong Sa island district, Khanh Hoa province and DK1 Platform last May. They were moved by the high determination of Truong Sa island district’s troops and people to protect national sovereignty over the country’s seas and islands despite numerous difficulties and dangers.
“We have learnt and understood more about the value and significance of life via each trip”, Hung said, stressing that besides developing business, responsibility for the community is an integral cultural feature of each MB staff.
