Paying tribute to heroic martyrs
During the ceremony, delegates offered incense and laid wreaths to pay tribute to heroic martyrs while presenting gifts to Vietnam heroic mothers, heroes of the People’s Armed Forces, wounded soldiers, martyrs’ relatives and Cambodian students in Vietnam. As a meaningful activity, the event is expected to be an encouragement for wounded soldiers and martyrs’ families, and a way of education for young generation to follow their forefathers’ heroic traditions.
Mr. Nguyen Huy Phu, representing wounded soldiers and former Vietnamese volunteer troops in Cambodia, said that he and his comrades were delighted with the peaceful life and recent development of Cambodia. Meanwhile, Major Nguyen Dinh Si, a martyr’s relative, expressed his pride and happiness as his forefathers have fought and sacrificed for the national defense cause as well as stood side by side with the Cambodian people in the struggle against the Pol Pot genocidal regime.
