Over the past five years, local authorities, departments, units, and the provincial Steering Committee 515 have thoroughly grasped and effectively implemented directives from the Party, the State, and the National Steering Committee 515 regarding the search, collection, and identification of martyrs’ remains.

Coordination among relevant provincial agencies has become increasingly close and effective. The State’s management role in this work has been clearly demonstrated, particularly in improving documentation, managing data, cross-referencing martyr-related information, and facilitating DNA identification. The use of information technology in updating and managing databases of martyrs' graves, relatives’ information, and DNA results has yielded positive results, enhancing information retrieval, verification, and connection.

Since 2021, the provincial Steering Committee has organized 239 field surveys at sites with reported information on martyrs’ remains; excavated 111 locations covering a total area of more than 25,000 sq.m.; and collected 122 sets of remains. Of these, 95 martyrs have been identified, while 27 remain unidentified. Notably, two mass graves were found and excavated, including those at Xuan Son Hill and Peak 174 in Hoai An district.

In addition to achievements in the search, collection, and identification of martyrs’ remains, localities and units have closely managed their assigned areas and strictly complied with government regulations. The reception, handover, and reburial of remains in cemeteries have been conducted solemnly and respectfully, in accordance with local customs and traditions.
