Senior Lieutenant General Luong Cuong speaking at the event |
Over the past year, Steering Committee 94 of the CMC embraced seriously the Party’s resolutions and directives as well as the direction from the Politburo, the PCC’s Secretariat, the CMC to fulfill its assigned missions in a comprehensive, timely and effective manner. It also made recommendations to higher levels to help promote the Party’s leadership over the whole society, issued directives and made plans on information dissemination before any important political events of the nation, on issues most concerned by the public, contributing to shaping the public’s ideology and orientating opinions among cadres, troops and people, and maintaining the Party’s ideological foundation in the military.
Besides, military units bettered their ideological and political education work, further combated wrongful viewpoints and arguments of hostile forces, making contribution to protecting the theoretical foundations of Marxism and Leninism, President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, and the Party’s policies.
Moreover, military press agencies performed fully all of their political missions, closely cooperated with other forces to create an integrated strength in information dissemination to orient the public’s ideology and opinions, effectively fighting against wrongful viewpoints and arguments.
This year, military units should implement effectively their military-defense missions, promote studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morals and style and the campaign “Promoting tradition, devoting talents, deserving to be Uncle Ho’s soldiers”, actively combat and prevent degradation in political ideology, morals and lifestyle and manifestations of “self-evolution” and “self-transformation”.
They should also proactively build forces, improve skills, expertise, ensure technical services and infrastructure for forces in charge of information dissemination, build healthy cultural environment in each unit.
Military press agencies will further team up with related agencies, grasp thoroughly the Party’s policies and resolutions and directives of higher levels, effectively promote information dissemination and be a key force in public opinion orientation and in combat against hostile forces’ schemes on the ideological and cultural fronts.
