Under the higher-level resolution, the old Ha Giang and Tuyen Quang provinces were merged to make the new Tuyen Quang Province. Accordingly, the new Tuyen Quang Province covers 13,795.5 square kilometers and has a population of 1,865,270 people. It consists of 124 commune-level administrative units, including 117 communes and seven wards, starting operation on July 1, 2025.
Addressing the event, Gen. Quyet congratulated the Party Committees and authorities of old Tuyen Quang and Ha Giang provinces on the new stage of development. He underlined that the merger of the two provinces was in line with the reality and development trends. It was made with assurance of the historical factors of the two localities as well as an elite, compact, strong political system that operates effectively and efficiently; creation of conditions for regional linkage, opening up new development spaces and improving the people's living standards.
Gen. Quyet asked the Party Committee of freshly-founded Tuyen Quang Province to continue to embrace and widely disseminate information about the higher-level and province-level policies on the reorganization of the political apparatus to all cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees, workers and people. This would help ensure unity, consensus, high resolve, and great efforts in the implementation process.
He also asked for prompt stabilization of new organizational structure and personnel assignment model to successfully perform the locality’s political tasks; and thorough preparations for and successful organization of all-level Party congresses for the 2025-2030 tenure.
On the occasion, Gen. Quyet and his entourage visited and presented gifts to Nong Tien Ward, Tuyen Quang Province.
