Upgraded memorial stele house in Binh Phuoc inaugurated
PANO - On March 23, the Department of Petrol and Oil of the General Department of Logistics and Technical Services (GDLT) held an inauguration ceremony for the upgraded historical memorial stele house at the endpoint of the fuel pipeline in Bu Gia Map commune, Bu Gia Map district, Binh Phuoc province.

The event was to mark the 50th anniversary of the South Liberation and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - 2025) and the 70th anniversary of the military petroleum industry’s foundation day (April 18, 1955 - 2025).
In 2009, the Department of Petrol and Oil built the historical stele house at the endpoint of the fuel pipeline in Bu Gia Map commune, Bu Gia Map district. At the beginning of 2025, the department continued to invest over VND 1 billion to upgrade and renovate the site, expanding its area to more than 1,000sq.m, including auxiliary facilities.
Speaking at the ceremony, Lt. Gen. Tran Minh Duc emphasized the crucial role of fuel source in the resistance war against the American imperialists. Under the leadership of the Party, along with the support of the people, troops bravely overcame hardships to construct and safeguard the 5,000-kilometer-long pipeline, stretching from the Vietnam-China border to Southeastern Vietnam, ensuring the timely strategic fuel supply for units in the Southern theater.

The fuel pipeline, with its endpoint located in Bu Gia Map commune, stood as a unsung achievement of the military petroleum industry and one of the remarkable feats-of-arms of the Vietnam People’s Army during the resistance war against the U.S. imperialists. The transportation of fuel through this pipeline took the enemy by surprise.
The memorial stele house was established to pay gratitude to generations of troops and tribute to those who sacrificed themselves to safeguard the fuel pipeline, while serving as a relic to remind future generations of this proud history.
On the occasion, the organizing panel presented gifts to 15 underprivileged households in Bu Gia Map commune.
