Huge bomb with intact detonator successfully handled in Hung Yen
PANO - On April 15, engineering troops from the Command’s Staff Division under the Hung Yen provincial Military successfully relocated and safely detonated a bomb discovered in Ngoc Nha Thuong hamlet, Phung Hung commune, Khoai Chau district, Hung Yen province.
Earlier, a local resident discovered a 340kg bomb measuring 40cm in diameter, 105cm in length, with its detonator still intact while digging the foundation for house construction.

Having received the information, the Military Command of Khoai Chau district cordoned off the area, established a guard post and prevented residents from entering the potentially hazardous zone. Following the directives of Military Region 3 and the Hung Yen provincial People's Committee, the provincial Military Command coordinated with relevant forces to develop and implement a plan for the safe relocation and detonation of the bomb.
Using specialized techniques, engineering troops successfully relocated the bomb to a riverside area in Xuan Dinh hamlet, Pham Hong Thai commune, Khoai Chau district, where it was safely disposed of.
