The event, which took place on the occasion of the 63rd anniversary of the opening of Ho Chi Minh Trail and foundation day of the Unit of Truong Son soldiers, attracted the participation of 300 delegates, representing 300,000 members of the association across the country.
In his opening speech, Major General Vo So, the association’s President, affirmed that since its establishment, the association has played its role as a “home” for former Truong Son soldiers to meet and recall their memories. It has conducted various significant events to pay gratitude to their comrades.
Over the past ten years, Vietnam’s Association of the Truong Son - Ho Chi Minh Trail with 301,638 members has overcome all difficulties and achieved remarkable results. In particular, it has mobilized more than VND 83 billion to conduct activities to support policy beneficiaries, needy members, and those with contribution to the nation.

The association has built 520 houses and repaired 197 downgraded ones; presented 294 savings books, 326 scholarships, 75 wheelchairs, 62,269 gifts, 1,580 blankets; provided financial support for 215 people.
With its achievements obtained, the association has been honored with the second-class Labor Order by the Party and State and presented with the emulation flag by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.
At the congress, delegates highlighted the development of central and local associations and elected the new Executive Committee for the 2022-2027 period with 107 members with Major General Vo So holding the president position.
