During a difficult and demanding journey, Team K93, tasked with searching, collecting, and repatriating the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and advisors who laid down their lives while conducting international service in Cambodia, has upheld unwavering determination and strong commitment to the mission.

At the ceremony

The members' unsung dedication has not only helped heal the pain of war, but also strengthened the Vietnam-Cambodia friendship and honored the noble spirit of comradeship. Since 2001, the team has recovered 2,141 sets of martyrs’ remains, of which 251 have been identified.

During the 2024-2025 season, Team K93 conducted operations at 42 locations, recovering 56 sets of remains, including 51 in Cambodia and five in Vietnam. Among these, two were identified.

Delegates paying tribute to the fallen

Speaking at the event, Political Commissar of the An Giang provincial Military Command and Deputy Head of An Giang’s Steering Committee 515 Senior Colonel Huynh Van Khoi commended the team’s efforts and called for strengthened coordination in future missions. He emphasized the importance of fostering coordination among forces in surveying, gathering reliable information, and conducting dignified memorial and burial services at Doc Ba Dac War Cemetery.

He also urged for deeper international cooperation, particularly with Cambodian provinces, and greater public engagement in providing information about burial places of soldiers.

Outstanding collectives and individuals honored at the event

At the event, several organizations and individuals were honored with awards for their contribution. Businesses and agencies across An Giang also presented gifts to Team K93 as encouragement to the team to fulfill the mission in the future.

According to the plan, the memorial service, a respect-paying and burial ceremony for Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and advisors will be held at 7:30a.m. on July 21, at Doc Ba Dac War Cemetery.
