General Minh presided over a ceremony to offer incense and flowers in tribute to President Ho Chi Minh and fallen heroes at the National Historical Site July 27 in Dai Phuc commune, where the Wounded Soldiers and Martyrs’ Day was officially declared nationwide. He also visited and presented gifts to severely wounded veterans in the area; attended a candle-lighting ceremony and the art program titled "Echoes of the Immortal Heroic Song."

During the artistic program, the GDP’s Deputy Chief and other delegates presented gift packages, worth VND 1.5 million each, to 78 policy families; 30 bicycles to disadvantaged students; and financial support for the construction of houses for special policy beneficiaries and military families in need of housing. Additionally, educational supplies, worth VND 20 million, were donated to Hung Son 2 Kindergarten.

As part of the program, the Military Youth Advisory Board collaborated with the Political Department of Military Region 1, Military Hospital 110 under the Department of Logistics and Technical Services of Military Region 1, and sponsors to provide free medical examinations, medicines, and gifts for 500 policy beneficiaries in Dai Phuc commune. The total budget for the program’s activities exceeded VND 1.5 billion.

The same day, a delegation from the Central Military Commission (CMC) and the Ministry of National Defense (MND), led by Deputy Chief of the General Staff (GS) Lieutenant General Thai Dai Ngoc visited and presented gifts to wounded and sick soldiers under treatment at Kim Bang Convalescent Center in Ninh Binh province.

Meeting with wounded and sick soldiers at the center, General Ngoc inquired after and wished them good health. He acknowledged the dedication and efforts of the center’s staff in providing care and rehabilitation services for those who had rendered great service to the revolution. He emphasized that throughout the struggles for national liberation and defense, millions of outstanding Vietnamese citizens sacrificed their youth, blood, and lives for the country. Such sacrifices are immense and can never be fully repaid. Therefore, it is current generation’s duty to always remember, honor, and care for our wounded and sick soldiers.

On behalf of the CMC, MND, and GS, General Ngoc thanked the Party Committee, People’s Committee, and local forces of Ninh Binh province for facilitating the center’s operation. He called on the local authorities to continue dissemination and education work to help the public, especially young generation, grasp the “When drinking water, remember its source”; to further take care of national contributors. 

Also on July 17, another delegation of the CMC and MND, led by GS’s Deputy Chief Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan visited and presented gifts to wounded and sick soldiers at Phu Tho provincial Convalescent Center, during which he expressed deep gratitude to the wounded and sick soldiers for their contribution and sacrifices to the national liberation and unification cause.

The GS’s leader said that with a deep sense of responsibility and compassion, the CMC and MND have consistently proposed and implemented numerous policies to better care for wounded and sick soldiers and revolutionary contributors. He thanked the center’s staff for their efforts and dedication and wished that they would continue taking good care of the wounded and sick soldiers and exert efforts to build the center into a real home for them.

On this occasion, the delegation presented gifts to the center and handed over 28 gift packages from the MND and 28 gift packages from Military Region 2 to the wounded and sick soldiers receiving treatment at the center.
