During the visits, General Phan Van Giang and General Nguyen Tan Cuong briefed the former leaders on notable results in military and defense work since the beginning of 2026. They noted that the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense had led the whole military in overcoming difficulties and successfully carrying out assigned missions, while making timely strategic recommendations to the Party and State.
The military has heightened vigilance and combat readiness. Gratitude activities have also been widely carried out, highlighted by the nationwide “500-day campaign to step up the search, collection, and identification of martyrs’ remains.”
At the same time, officers and soldiers in the whole military are working to effectively implement the resolutions of the 14th National Party Congress and the 12th Military Party Congress, with the goal of building an elite and modern military.
Through active support for people in poverty reduction, natural disaster recovery, and search and rescue operations, the military continues to affirm its role as a firm fulcrum for people while further promoting the noble virtues of “Uncle Ho’s soldiers.”
On this occasion, General Phan Van Giang and General Nguyen Tan Cuong wished the former leaders and their families good health and happiness and expressed hope that they would continue to offer valuable opinions and advice to help build an increasingly strong military, and fulfill all assigned missions.
