The visit shows the deep care of the Party, State, Ministry of National Defense and Naval Service, as well as the sentiment and responsibility of agencies, units, enterprises, organizations, and individuals across the country toward the Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelago, contributing to raising the quality of the material and spiritual life of islanders and troops in Truong Sa island district.
Early in the morning, the last packages were transferred to the ships. This year, apart from traditional food, Tet gifts include different kinds of ornamental plants, fresh flowers, and decorative items.
Joining the working mission were are than 90 journalists from press and media agencies throughout the country, and art troupes of the Naval Service, etc.
Speaking at the farewell ceremony, Senior Captain Nguyen Huu Minh, Political Commissar of Naval Region 4, expressed his hoped that the journalists would produce more press works fully reflecting the life of troops and islanders in Truong Sa district.
In his remarks, Nguyen Tan Tuan, Chairman of the Khanh Hoa provincial People’s Committee, shared that this annual activity, organized whenever the lunar New Year is coming, featured the mainland’s sentiments, care, and trust in troops and people in Truong Sa island district, serving as an encouragement to help them continue to hold on to the sea and successfully fulfill the mission of safeguarding national sovereignty over sea and islands.
As a member of the mission, Dinh Kien Cuong from Ninh Binh provincial Party Committee's Commission for Information and Education, touchingly said that this is the first time he has been to Truong Sa, underlining that islanders would be certainly delighted at the visit and gifts of troops and people from the mainland.
