Accordingly, the Quang Binh provincial Border Guard Command sent over 50 officers and soldiers to the scene to help local authorities and teachers overcome the flood consequences. Principal of Phong Thuy Secondary School Le Dinh Ly held that thanks to the support of the border troops, the task was completed. From November 2, teaching and learning activities resumed as usual.
At Vo Ninh Primary School, Vo Ninh commune, Quang Ninh district, right after the water receded, officers and soldiers from Battalion 42, Regiment 996, under the Quang Binh provincial Military Command, assisted teachers in cleaning classrooms, desks, and school supplies. According to Principal of Vo Ninh Primary School Hoang Thi Ngoan, 17 classrooms and the administrative area of the school were submerged over 1 meter, leaving mud and trash everywhere. With the timely support of the soldiers and militiamen, the school was able to welcome students back after several days off due to flooding.
According to a report from Le Thuy district’s Division of Education and Training, floods have inundated 64 schools and campuses with 420 classrooms. The total damage to infrastructure and teaching and learning equipment exceeds VND 6.7 billion. Head of the division Nguyen Van Vung shared that a thick layer of mud left after the floods has affected the flood recovery efforts. With the assistance of local armed forces in the area, on November 2, the task was completed. All students can be back to school from November 4.

After more than four days of carrying out flood recovery tasks in Le Thuy and Quang Ninh districts, 160 officers and soldiers from the Quang Binh provincial Military Command’s affiliates reportedly repaired 20 schools and cleaned up numerous roads and public facilities.
Major Nguyen Van Sam, Political Commissar of Battalion 42, Regiment 996, under the Quang Binh provincial Military Command held that the unit built up appropriate response plans while promptly sending personnel to the scene to help locals overcome flood consequences as soon as possible.
