Troops of Thua Thien Hue provincial armed forces exert all-out efforts to put out the fire.

Particularly, at 15:00 on July 30, a blaze broke out in a special-use pine forest of Tien Phong Plantation in Cu Chanh village, Thuy Bang commune, Hue city, Thua Thien Hue province.

The local authorities mobilized on-site forces to put out the fire. However, due to scorching weather and strong wind, the blaze spread quickly and widely to nearby areas.

Upon receiving the news, the Military Command of Thua Thien Hue province deployed 150 officers and soldiers from Hue municipal Military Command and Regiment 6 and more than 50 militiamen of Hue city and Thuy Bang commune to rush to the scene. These troops joined hands with local police, forest management forces and people to stamp out the fire.

Until over 19:00 the same day, the fire was basically put under control.

Troops from Thua Thien Hue provincial Military Command and other forces kept their presence at the site to handle any contingencies in a timely manner.

* The same day, 20 troops from Flotilla 42 of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command promptly coordinated with local forces to help local people overcome the consequences of a whirlwind, strong wind and heavy rain that occurred at night on July 29 and blew off roofs of 15 houses in Nam Can town, Ca Mau province,.

The joint forces helped three households with re-roofing their houses and collecting other items blown away during the storm. They also lent hands to reinforce two other houses.

Under the motto “let no one be homeless,” the troops braved dangers, hardships and rain to assist local people in repairing their houses.

Troops from Flotilla 42 also actively teamed with local authorities and forces to develop disaster prevention and control plans.
