Nghe An troops active in overcoming disaster consequences
PANO - Dozens of troops and vehicles of the armed forces of Nghe An province have actively helped local people in Hoang Mai town and Quynh Luu district respond to flooding on September 30.
In Hoang Mai town, the town's health center was flooded about 0.5m. The town’s Military Command has mobilized 150 officers, soldiers, militia and self-defense forces to transport equipment and materials to a higher place, and take the patients under treatment to a safe place.
In Quynh Luu district, more than 200 officers, soldiers, militia and self-defense forces have stayed on-duty at dykes and assisted locals in moving their assets to a safe area and take prompt response on request.
Earlier, 200 troops from Regiment 764, the Military Command of Hung Nguyen district, and militia forces of Hung Nguyen district, Warehouse K77 together with local policemen, departments, organizations and local people joined hands to save a dyke section passing hamlet 7, Rao village, Hung Dao commune, Hung Nguyen district which was broken about 5m from September 29 to early September 30.
The border guards of Nghe An province earlier helped evacuate locals to a safe place to avoid landslides and flash floods in local border areas.
