According to Colonel Tran Vo Viet, Commander of the Military Command of Thanh Chuong district, in order to promptly help local people soon stabilize their lives, the unit advised the People's Committee of the district to mobilize 6,776 people, including 150 troops and 2,500 militiamen to clean up 12 schools, two commune medical stations and 20 cultural houses. They also cleaned up roads and coordinated with other functional forces to bury more than 53,000 cattle and poultry that died from the flooding.
