Spreading love and hope in remote borderland of Xin Man
PANO - In Xin Man Commune, young intellectual volunteers of the Production and Political Establishment Development Team under Defense-Economic Unit 313 of Military Region 2 not only defend the national border, but also contribute to literacy, vocational training, and the improvement of local livelihoods.
The borderland of Xin Man embodies both the majestic beauty of the Northwestern mountains and the hardships of ethnic minorities’ lives.

Numerous economic development models, such as breeding livestock and poultry, and planting seedless persimmons and sugar beets, have brought about practical outcomes, contributing to a shift in thinking in terms of production and sustainable poverty reduction.
Since the beginning of the year, the unit has contributed hundreds of workdays to help people eliminate temporary and dilapidated homes and maintain the program “Love Sharing Thursdays,” offering free nutritious meals for children at Lao Po preschool.
