At the event, the officers and soldiers of the Task Force No.4 disseminated legal information among local residents, distributed more than 200 leaflets with practical and easy-to-understand contents on the Vietnam Coast Guard Law, the Law on Drug Prevention and Control, and regulations related to combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing.

Presenting gifts to disadvantaged residents and students

The task force also presented 30 gift packages to local policy beneficiary families and ethnic and religious households; 30 gift packages to disadvantaged families; 30 gift packages to disadvantaged students with good academic performance; and presented 100 national flags to the People’s Committee of Kien Hai special zone, contributing to spreading patriotism and national pride in the island area.

Huynh Van Loi, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Kien Hai special zone, emphasized that the “Island Tet” program was a highly practical mass mobilization and social welfare activity of Task Force No.4, contributing to local authorities’ efforts to ensure that people celebrate a cozy, healthy, warm and safe Tet holiday. He hoped for more mass mobilization and social welfare activities in the future.

Also on January 27, the Lai Chau Provincial Border Guard Command, and local Party committees and authorities organized the program “Border spring warms people’s hearts” in Na Vang village, Khong Lao commune, and Pa Mu village, Hua Bum commune.

In Na Vang village, the organizers presented Tet gifts to 13 poor and near-poor households; 30 smartphones to ethnic residents; and gifts to 10 students under the program “Paving the way to school for students.”

Many other meaningful activities such as making banh chung (square glutinous rice cake), medical check-ups, “Zero VND stalls,” folk games, and a “Spring celebration - Tet reunion” meal created a warm atmosphere, strengthening close-knit military-civilian ties.

In Pa Mu village, Tet gifts were given to dozens of poor, near-poor and disadvantaged households; and smartphones to 12 households. In addition, a number of meaningful activities created a joyful and warm atmosphere and left a positive impression on local people.

According to the plan, the program will be organized in 55 villages across 11 border communes in Lai Chau province from January 17 to February 7, with an estimated total budget of over VND 4.8 billion, bringing a warm spring to ethnic communities there.

Meaningful gifts presented to local residents

On January 27, the Military Science Academy under the General Department II coordinated with relevant agencies and units to organize the “Border Spring” program in 2026 in Chieng Son and Long Sap commune of Son La province under the chair of its Political Commissar Major General Nguyen Dinh Trung.

At the event, the working delegation presented nearly 800 gift packages with a total value of nearly VND 1.4 billion to local policy beneficiary families, national contributors, disadvantaged families, and needy but high-achieving students. Meaningful gifts were also presented to several agencies, units, kindergartens, primary and secondary schools in the two communes.
