From early morning, the construction site of Sin Thau Inter-level Primary and Secondary Boarding School project was filled with the sounds of concrete mixers and digging tools. Amidst mountains and forests, officers and soldiers quickly transported materials, leveled the ground, cleared the site, and assisted with construction work.
While inspecting the work and encouraging the troops, Lieutenant Lo Van Duong of Company 12, Battalion 3, said that despite difficult weather, rugged terrain, and challenging living conditions, everyone understood the significance of the mission and was determined to complete the assigned task.

Sin Thau is a mountainous border commune of Dien Bien province where ethnic minorities make up most of the population, with the Ha Nhi accounting for about 90 percent. Before the troops departed, Senior Colonel Bui Ngoc Tuyen, Commanding Officer of Regiment 82, asked the whole unit to uphold the highest sense of responsibility, overcome difficulties, and help the locality accelerate construction of the project.
He also required the troops to strictly maintain military discipline, strengthen solidarity with local residents, and ensure absolute safety. Officers and soldiers were instructed to work quickly and effectively, while ensuring quality and safety, so that every working day would contribute to the project’s early completion.
Those requirements were reflected in the work being carried out at the construction site. Troops maintained a fast pace and coordinated closely to meet their daily targets.
Corporal Vang A Hung of Company 12, Battalion 3 said he was proud to take part in building a school for students in the border area. Although the work was demanding, he said everyone was happy to contribute to a project of great significance to local residents.
Sin Thau Inter-level Primary and Secondary Boarding School project covers about eight hectares and has a total investment of VND 197 billion. It includes 30 main classrooms, along with a library, specific rooms, a cafeteria, a kitchen, and other supporting facilities.
Amid the urgent construction schedule, officers and soldiers of Regiment 82 have pro-actively taken on tasks and worked closely with workers and technicians to ensure efficiency in every job.
The prospect of spacious classrooms filled with the laughter of teachers and students in Sin Thau has motivated the troops.
As dusk settled over the mountains, Regiment 82’s troops completed the final tasks of the day. Their contribution will remain part of the school’s story when the opening drum sounds for the new academic year in the country’s Westernmost region, reflecting the spirit of the motto: “Wherever the people are in need, the military is there.”
