Shelter of troops-people bond after Typhoon Kalmaegi
PANO - After Typhoon Kalmaegi struck on the night of November 6, the coastal fishing hamlet of An Quang Dong in De Gi commune, Gia Lai Province was almost completely destroyed. In just moments, 24 households with nearly 100 residents lost everything, becoming homeless.
Sharing the hardships of the villagers, troops from Cat Khanh Border Post of the Border Guard Command under the Gia Lai Provincial Military Command quickly rearranged their facilities, opened their barracks, and welcomed the displaced families to take shelter.
Thanks to the care and support from the local Party committee, authorities, relevant agencies, and the border guards, the residents have found encouragement and are doing their best to overcome this difficult period, gradually rebuilding their lives.
The People’s Army Newspaper would like to present a series of photos capturing the heartfelt moments of Cat Khanh border guard officers and soldiers assisting the residents of An Quang Dong fishing hamlet.
