MR7 Command extends greetings to Khmer people on Chol Chnam Thmay Festival
PANO – On April 10, a delegation of the Military Region 7 (MR7) Command, led by its Deputy Political Chief Senior Colonel Thai Thanh Duc visited and extended greetings to the Khmer ethnic community at several pagodas, including Candaransi Pagoda and Pothiwong Pagoda in Ho Chi Minh City, on the occasion of the Chol Chnam Thmay Festival.
On behalf of the Party Committee and the MR7 Command, Senior Colonel Thai Thanh Duc extended best wishes to Most Venerable Danh Lung, Abbot of Candaransi Pagoda; Venerable Tang Ngoc An, Abbot of Pothiwong Pagoda; and the monks and all Buddhist followers at both pagodas. He wished them a joyful, peaceful, and prosperous Chol Chnam Thmay Festival.

The Deputy Political Chief of MR 7 hopes that in the coming time, the Most Venerable, the Venerable, monks, Buddhist followers, and Khmer people will continue to promote the tradition of great national unity and the role of respectable individuals within the community; actively participate in patriotic emulation movements and new-style rural development; enthusiastically engage in patriotic emulation movements and social activities together with people across the country; maintain political security, social order and safety; try to overcome difficulties, actively study, work, and produce to build increasingly prosperous and happy families.
Most Venerable Danh Lung and Venerable Tang Ngoc An thanked the guests for the visit and Chol Chnam Thmay greetings. They also affirmed that the Most Venerable and Venerable, monks and Buddhist followers of the two pagodas would faithfully practice Buddhism in accordance with the teachings of the Buddha, strictly observe the Party's policies and the State's laws, fulfill their responsibilities in guiding Buddhist followers and the Khmer community to preserve and promote the national cultural identity and actively participate in patriotic emulation movements, strengthening national solidarity, and contributing to national defense, security, and the development of the country and Ho Chi Minh City.
