Forces mobilized for activities in celebration of Chol Chnam Thmay festival

The Soc Trang provincial armed forces are mobilized for activities in celebration the Chol Chnam Thmay festival in 2025.

As scheduled, the activities will take place in Tuan Tuc commune, Thanh Tri district, including disseminating information about the 50th anniversary of the South Liberation and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - 2025); and assisting local people in building, repairing, upgrading rural roads and bridges, and installing streetlights, among others. In addition, there will be an exhibition showcasing achievements in building new-style rural areas, local specialties, a Vietnamese fair on rural areas, serving local people’s needs.

Earlier, the Soc Trang provincial Military Command sends troops to install solar-powered streetlights for local people.

Notably, the Soc Trang provincial armed forces will build several “Great solidarity” houses for needy people; visit and offer gifts to religious establishments, policy families, poor and near-poor households; present scholarships and bicycles to disadvantaged students; and organize various physical activities, cultural performances, folk games, and a competition for making traditional Khmer cakes.

Repairing houses for local people

Earlier, the Soc Trang provincial Military Command mobilized over 40 officers and soldiers, together with local authorities and people of Tuan Tuc commune to clean more than 8 kilometers of rural roads, build 13 solar-powered streetlights and two concrete bridges, and assist four households to dismantle their houses under the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.

These activities take place from April 10 to 12.
