On July 25 afternoon, a delegation of the Party and State led by Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) General Trinh Van Quyet attended a memorial and burial service for six martyrs at Vi Xuyen National War Cemetery.

Gen. Quyet and his entourage solemnly released fresh flowers to bid farewell to the martyrs, whose remains were recovered from Giang Nam and Nam Ngat villages in Thanh Thuy commune, Tuyen Quang province. Writing in the guestbook at the war cemetery, Gen. Quyet emphasized deep gratitude to the heroes and martyrs for their sacrifices at Vi Xuyen Front for the revolutionary cause of the Party.
Later, the delegation visited the family of war veteran Nguyen Trong Dai in Vi Xuyen commune, during which Gen. Quyet offered heartfelt sympathy for the hardships and losses caused by war that they were facing while urging the family to uphold the revolutionary tradition and rise in life.
* The same day, Deputy Minister of National Defense Sr. Lt. Gen. Vo Minh Luong attended a similar ceremony at Hill 82 War Cemetery in Tan Bien commune, Tay Ninh province for 172 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and advisors fallen during the war in Cambodia. Their remains were gathered during the 2024-2025 dry season.

After the ceremony, Gen. Luong visited and presented gifts from the National Steering Committee 515 to Search and Collection Teams K70, K71 and the Management Board of Hill 82 War Cemetery.
* On July 25 in Hanoi, Deputy Defense Minister Sr. Lt. Gen. Hoang Xuan Chien led a mission to offer incense in tribute to General Nguyen Chi Thanh, former Politburo member, former Chief of the GDP, and Sr. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Chi Vinh, former permanent member of the CMC and former Deputy Defense Minister, at their residences. The mission expressed token of gratitude to the two generals for their contribution to the Party’s revolutionary cause and military building.

* The same day, Deputy Defense Minister Sr. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Hong Thai led a delegation to lay flowers and offer incense at the temple dedicated to martyrs of the Dien Bien Phu battlefield, A1 National War Cemetery, and the Memorial House of President Ho Chi Minh. In a solemn atmosphere, the delegates expressed boundless respect and gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh, national heroes, and martyrs who fought and sacrificed for the nation’s independence and freedom and for the people’s happiness.
* Meanwhile, Deputy Chief of the General Staff Sr. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Quang Ngoc and his entourage met with and presented gifts to policy beneficiary families in Dien Bien province. Dozens of gifts from Military Region 2 Command, Dien Bien provincial People’s Committee and Military Command also reached the hands of local national contributors while 15 bikes were handed over to local impoverished students with good academic records.
* During his visit to General Le Van Dung, former GDP Chief, GDP Deputy Chief Sr. Lt. Gen. Le Quang Minh inquired after the general and reported on the military’s task performance in recent times. He wished the general good health and further contribution to the Party’s revolutionary cause and the military building. For his part, Gen. Dung expressed his belief in the military’s stronger development and fulfillment of all assignments by the Party, State, and people.

* The same day, the Defense Trade Union Board visited and presented gifts to war veterans and children of AO-exposed veterans at Vietnam Friendship Village in Hanoi; wounded and sick soldiers taken care of at Ha Nam province’s Duy Tien Convalescent Center and Bac Ninh province’s Thuan Thanh Convalescent Center.
* More than 1,300 national contributors in Hanoi’s My Duc commune, Thanh Hoa province’s Yen Tho commune, and Lang Son province’s Tuan Son commune were provided with health check-ups and medicines by Military Hospital 354 under the General Department of Logistics and Technical Services.
