According to Chairman of the Thuong Trach commune People’s Committee Dinh Cu, the commune has 18 villages, 719 households and 3,209 people. The weather in this mountainous commune is harsh, badly affecting local people’s health. In addition, local people live in hard conditions, thus it is difficult for them to care for their health. Therefore, such a program helped improve the healthcare for locals, and enhance solidarity between troops and people, leaving deep impression on ethnic minority people in the locality.

Senior Colonel Dang Trang Huyen, Director of Military Hospital 268, said that the program demonstrated the sentiments and responsibility of the hospital’s personnel for ethnic minority people who have supported the Vietnam People’s Army in general and the armed forces of Military Region 4 in particular in the national salvation in the past and current Fatherland building and defense cause.
