The provincial Party Committee’s Commission for Mass Mobilization always disseminates information, encourages poor households, and creates favorable conditions for them to get access to economic models. These households have received support for their livelihoods in both cash and kind.

An Lac commune in Luc Yen district is populated by ethnic minority groups living in hard conditions. To help the locals rise in life, the commission regularly organizes delegations to do surveys to grasp the reality and needs to escape poverty in the locality. According to the study’s results, in 2023, An Lac commune had 12 especially-disadvantaged households which were in need of support.
Apart from calling on benefactors to help build houses for two families, the commission raised money among its personnel to provide 12 households with livestock and poultry, valued at VND 18 million in total. It also teamed up with the provincial Red Cross Society to present 60 gifts to students of An Lac Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary Schools.
In addition to financial support and provision of breeding animals, last year the province developed a project with a goal of building 3,022 houses for poor and near-poor households facing housing difficulty by the end of 2025. In 2023 alone, the province built, and repaired 1,598 houses. This year, it plans to give support to building 1,046 houses and repairing 378 houses.
Impressively, the rate of poor households in the province has decreased by 3.5 percent to 4 per cent yearly. The spiritual and material life of poor and near-poor households has been improved dramatically. Furthermore, infrastructure in remote, mountainous, disadvantaged localities has been improved, better serving local socio-economic development. So far, more and more poor households in the province have voluntarily registered to be free from poverty and locals are more aware of and responsible for escaping poverty as well.
With more households having stable life, the local social order and safety are better ensured and the building of the great national unity bloc is consolidated.
