Dear officers and soldiers participating in the construction of the Lo River pontoon bridge,
Under the directives of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of National Defense regarding the installation of a pontoon bridge across the Lo river in Doan Hung commune, Phu Tho province, on February 15, 2026 (the 28th day of lunar December), the Engineering Corps in coordination with Military Region 2, the Air Defense - Air Force Service, Phu Tho province, and local forces, mobilized hundreds of personnel and technical vehicles to conduct urgent surveys and install a pontoon bridge spanning over 220 meters. The project was completed in a day, ensuring absolute safety.
I am deeply moved that many officers and soldiers who had been granted Tet (lunar New Year) leave to come back to their families immediately returned to their units upon receiving the order. Completing the bridge in such a short time (from 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.) exceeded the requirements of the Prime Minister and the Ministry of National Defense. This timely service for the people's travel needs demonstrates the responsibility and devotion of the Vietnam People's Army in general, and the tasked forces in particular. It profoundly reflects the revolutionary nature of a military that comes from the people and fights for the people, strengthening the "Uncle Ho’s Soldiers" virtues in the new era and bolstering public confidence in the Party, the State, and the military.
On behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, I acknowledge, commend, and highly appreciate your sense of responsibility, determination, and outstanding achievements. I expect that in the coming time, you will continue to build on these results, overcome all difficulties, and work in close coordination to complete remaining tasks, ensure that the bridge operates smoothly and safely to facilitate local travel and contribute to local stability.
On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2026, I extend my warmest regards and best wishes to all of you. May your families and loved ones have a New Year full of health, happiness, success, and progress!
Best wishes!
General Phan Van Giang
