Defense leader visits AO/dioxin victims
PANO – Senior Lieutenant General Do Can, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA), visited the Social Sponsorship Center of the Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange (AO)/dioxin (VAVA) in Hanoi on December 27.
At the meeting, VAVA briefed General Can on the center’s personnel organization and functions.
Being operational since 2016, the center takes care of AO/dioxin victims in the Northern part of the country, provides vocational training courses for the victims, and holds detoxification and rehabilitation for the victims according to a project of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA).

General Can inquired after and encouraged AO/dioxin victims who are currently under treatment in the center.
He wanted the VAVA’s leadership to actively mobilize more resources to further boost the center’s capacities in caring and rehabilitating the victims.
On this occasion, General Can presented several gifts from the VPA’s General Department of Politics to the center.
