During the program, the Coast Guard Region 2 Command held a meeting to disseminate information related to national sea and island situation and laws to participants, as part of the activities in response to Vietnam’s Law Day (November 9).

More than 100 local officials, party members, residents, and fishermen were updated on the Party’s guidelines and State’s policies and laws, especially contents related to national sea and islands. They also learnt about the Law on the Vietnam Coast Guard; the functions and duties of the coast guard force; the prevention of illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Political Commissar of the Coast Guard Region 2 Command Senior Colonel Tran Hong Que emphasized the significance of the event. He said that this activity aimed to enhance the effectiveness of the “Coast guards standing side by side with fishermen” program, while supporting citizens and fishermen in economic, social, and cultural development and poverty reduction. It was also to strengthen military-civilian solidarity and foster the public’s love for the national sea and islands, thus raising public awareness of and responsibility for building and protecting the nation’s maritime sovereignty, security, and safety.

On this occasion, the Coast Guard Region 2 Command handed over 50 gift packages, worth VND 1 million each, and essential items to policy households and families of fishermen in difficult circumstances in Ngu Hanh Son district.

Additionally, the delegation from the Coast Guard Region 2 Command and the Da Nang municipal Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission visited and presented gifts to the families of two fishermen in particularly challenging circumstances in Hoa Hai and My Khe wards, Ngu Hanh Son district.
