Speaking at the event, Senior Colonel Tran Hong Que, Deputy Political Commissar of Coast Guard Region 2, underlined that the competition took place in the context that the whole country was organizing a series of activities in response to the Law Day and the Vietnamese Teachers' Day.

Distributing leaflets to students

The competition was about laws on the sea and islands; Vietnam Coast Guard; drug prevention and control and the Book Festival 2024. It aimed to innovate the content and forms of law dissemination and education among people, thereby raising their awareness of and responsibility for law observance, contributing to building a socialist rule-of-law state, creating a healthy and useful playground for students.

The competition also aimed to widely popularize laws on sea and islands, the State’s documents on sovereignty over sea and islands; functions and tasks of the coast guard force; harms and measures to prevent and combat drugs and violence in schools to teachers and students.

Through the competition, the organizing panel hoped to raise students and teachers’ awareness of, as well as their patriotism and love for national sea and islands; and heighten their responsibility for the cause of building and protecting the sacred sovereignty over national sea and islands.
