Accordingly, at 2:30 p.m. the same day, while operating in Cu Lao Cham waters, Quang Nam province, Ship 2016 received information from the Coast Guard Region 2 Command about the sinking of Ship An Binh Phat 68 of Nguyen Van Duy carrying with it 4,000 tons of stone powder from Thanh Hoa en route to Quang Ngai province, about 13 nautical miles Southwest of Cu Lao Cham Island.

Upon receiving the news, officers and soldiers of Ship 2016 made preparations and then approached the scene. At 4:00 p.m., it reached the sunken ship and successfully rescued 8 crew-members who had fallen into the sea, ensuring their safety and health.

* On September 17, at 9:00 p.m., while operating in Ly Son waters, Ship 6001 was informed by the Coast Guard Region 2 Command that fishing vessel QNa 91180 TS, with 14 fishermen on board and captained by Pham Van Tan from An Hai Tay village, Tam Quang commune, Nui Thanh district, Quang Nam province, had a chip on its propeller while fishing 44 nautical miles East-northeast of Ly Son Island.

Upon receiving the information, Ship 6001 quickly headed to the scene.

The coast guard ship also contacted the troubled fishing vessel via the satellite system to grasp its situation. At 9:00 a.m., on September 18, despite severe weather conditions, Ship 6001 successfully reached the trawler and deployed measures to tow it to shore. Only one among 12 fishermen aboard the fishing vessel had his leg injured; the others were in a stable health condition.

At 4:00 p.m. the same day, Ship 6001 successfully towed the fishing vessel to the port of Flotilla 21, and handed it over to the local authorities.
