Coast Guard Region 2 medical team rescues injured fisherman at sea
PANO - At 9:00 p.m. on June 30, the Coast Guard ship CSB 2014 (Flotilla 21, Coast Guard Region 2) handed over an injured fisherman to his family and the Quang Nam provincial Border Guard Command for further treatment.
Earlier, at 11:20 a.m. the same day, Ship CSB 2014 received orders from the Command of Coast Guard Region 2 to rescue fisherman Le Van Thang (born in 1968, residing in Son Loc commune, Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province), who was injured while fishing at sea. The unit promptly contacted and brought along two doctors from Ly Son island district to aid the injured fisherman.

After nearly three hours of travelling, at 3:00 p.m., Ship CSB 2014 reached the fishing vessel QB92907-TS, located 80 nautical miles offshore. The ship quickly sent a medical team to the fishing vessel to provide first aid to the injured fisherman. The fisherman was found unconscious due to a forehead injury and an open wound.

The doctors bandaged the wound, administered saline solution, and fed the patient with porridge. The medical team then continuously monitored the patient's condition while the ship hurried back to shore.
