On December 17, it handed over the first house of the campaign. The remainder is expected to be finished before January 20, 2026, so local residents can celebrate the Lunar New Year (Tet) in their new houses.

No troops withrawn when houses unfinished

Her son, Cao Van Muoi, shared that while troops of Engineering Brigade 7 under Army Corps 34 were helping rebuild the family’s house destroyed by floods, his mother constantly watched the soldiers working. She often asked why they did not rest at noon or stop late at night, and reminded her children to bring water for them. Rain or shine, day or night, the soldiers worked tirelessly so Sua and her daughter who has a congenital speech disability could soon have a new house. “Our family is deeply grateful and will always remember the kindness of Uncle Ho’s soldiers,” Muoi said.

Veteran Vo Van Thanh, a resident from Kim Xuyen hamlet, Gia Lai province’s Tuy Phuoc Dong commune, was also moved as troops of Signal Regiment 29 under Army Corps 34 worked through rain and sun to help rebuild his flood-damaged house. Elderly and facing financial hardship, his family relied mainly on the State’s VND 60 million support and the free labor provided by the soldiers, which proved extremely meaningful.

Seeing the 75-sq.m house gradually take shape under the hands of soldiers, Thanh said that the military helping people rebuild houses after natural disasters reflects the deep bond between the military and the people, and highlights the noble qualities of Uncle Ho’s soldiers in both wartime and peacetime.

As funding mainly comes from State and local support, units of Army Corps 34 have pro-actively organized tight, economical and effective construction, guided by the spirit of “No troops will be withrawn when houses are still unfinished.”

Advancing with Quang Trung spirit

Lieutenant Colonel Dang Van Ha, Deputy Political Chief of Engineering Brigade 7, who directly commanded the housing construction for Sua’s family, said that on December 3, after receiving the task, the brigade’s working team set the determination to build the house as fast, economical and effective as possible. In just 15 days, a 55 sq.m house was completed, meeting the “three solid” standards of solid foundation, solid frame and solid roof, with a flood-resistant loft, bringing joy to the family of the national contributor and her neighbors.

Major General Nguyen Tran Long, Deputy Political Commissar of Army Corps 34, said that to implement “Quang Trung Campaign,” the army corps established a steering committee to support housing construction and repair for flood-hit people in the two provinces. In addition, 77 construction teams were formed, each with 10-12 members, and 37 vehicles transporting building materials.

From the first day of deployment, Army Corps 34 defined the campaign as an advance with the lightning-fast spirit of Quang Trung. Troops are determined to work day and night, maximize all time and resources, and strive to complete new houses so people can celebrate the Lunar New Year. This, as Gen. Long emphasized, is an order from heart of troops of Army Corps 34.

Party Secretary and Chairman of the People’s Council of Ngo May commune Pham Ngoc Thai affirmed that the houses rebuilt under “Quang Trung Campaign” are not only physical structures, but also symbols of the close military-civilian bond and the deep care of the Party, State, Central Military Commission, Ministry of National Defense and the military for people affected by natural disasters. Army Corps 34 has brought the strength, will and compassion of Uncle Ho’s soldiers to help the people, leaving a strong impression of a lightning campaign without gunfire, echoing trust and deep troops-people solidarity.
