Sr. Col. Ngo Thi Le speaks at the meeting. |
Authorized by leadership of the MND and the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP), Deputy Head of the GDP’s Department of Policy-Social Affairs Senior Colonel Ngo Thi Le, received the delegation.
Vinh Long is rich in revolutionary traditions and serves as a strategic area in the Mekong Delta. During the resistance wars against foreign invaders for national defense and the implementation of international duties, the armed forces and people of Vinh Long braved sacrifices and hardships, making immense human and material contributions. Therefore, the number of national contributors in the province is relatively large.
Comrade Vo Van Tam, Deputy Director of the Vinh Long provincial Department of Home Affairs, said that Vinh Long province currently manages more than 267,600 records of national contributors. Deeply aware of their responsibility and the national tradition of “When drinking water, remember its source,” in recent years, Vinh Long’s authorities and people have consistently regarded “Gratitude-paying” work as a key political task. Local Party committees and authorities have regularly visited, encouraged, and presented gifts to national contributors and martyrs’ relatives on national holidays and the lunar New Year festival.
Speaking at the meeting, Sr. Col. Ngo Thi Le emphasized that in recent years, Vinh Long province has effectively cared for national contributors and organized gratitude activities. These activities reflect profound gratitude for the great contribution and sacrifices of heroic martyrs, wounded and sick soldiers, heroic Vietnamese mothers, and national contributors and their families in the province.
