Military and militia forces assist residents in disaster recovery efforts
PANO - On August 27, the office of the National Civil Defense Steering Committee reported that, as part of the efforts to address the aftermath of Storm No.4, nearly 1,400 regular soldiers, militia members, and vehicles continued cleaning up seven schools, clearing nearly 30 kilometers of roads, and disinfecting 41,500 square meters in affected areas across Lang Son province.
Along with helping residents overcome disaster consequences, military units stepped up communications, urging local people to closely monitor weather forecasts and warnings to proactively respond and promptly notify local authorities and functional forces in case of emergencies.

In Nghe An province, two landslides occurred along National Highway 46 in Kim Bang commune. Water levels in rivers and streams across Kim Bang, Na Loi, Tam Thai, and Mon Son communes rose, submerging roads and spillway bridges by 30 to 100 centimeters, and rendering them impassable. Local border posts under the provincial Border Guard Command coordinated with local authorities to erect barriers and establish checkpoints to prevent traffic through hazardous zones, while assisting households near landslide areas in evacuating to safe places.
At 16:00, near Tam Quan estuary (Gia Lai province), a fisherman aboard fishing vessel BD 98828 TS suffered a stroke. Upon receiving the request for assistance, the Gia Lai provincial Border Guard Command promptly dispatched forces to reach the vessel and bring the victim ashore for emergency medical treatment; the fisherman's condition is now stable.
