50 years ago, on the night of December 2nd, 1964, Binh Gia Campaign was launched in two phases, winning great victory for the Vietnamese forces. Defeating the enemy’s special war strategy, the victory of the campaign holds deep historical values.
Participants have clarified the context and influential factors of the campaign, preparations, determination and operational plans of the southern command, the role of the forces participating in the campaign, including the prominent role of the regular forces of the southern command, the coordination and combination of local troops and the people, and the military art of the campaign.
Accordingly, many historical issues concerning the position and development of Binh Gia Campaign and lessons learned for practical use in the future war have been drawn out. The workshop results contributed to the dissemination and education of national patriotism and high determination to firmly safeguard the country’s independence and sovereignty.
