PANO – The Department of Propaganda and Training, under the General Department of Politics, held a conference on January 10th in the presence of Lieutenant-General Nguyen Tuan Dung, Deputy-Director of the General Department of Politics, to review the five-year implementation of the “We are soldiers” program in the period of 2006-2011 and develop plans for 2012.
Over the past five years, the program became an interesting playground for soldiers nationwide, as part of efforts to promote the spiritual life of soldiers. Performances in the program helped educate traditions of Vietnam’s People Army and the virtues of Uncle Ho’s soldiers. Besides, the program also helped find talented soldiers through artistic exchanges, such as dancing, singing, demonstrating magic, to name a few.

Reporter Vu Thanh Huong, head of the team producing the program, said that over the past five years the organising panel received compliments from viewers. For more success, the team will work with military units to make the program more attractive to meet demands of the public and troops.
Accordingly, the program script in 2012 will include games that both show troops’ creativeness and reflect specific tasks of each military unit. Besides, the program will also focus on troops’ stories in different periods.
As planned, the program will be recorded in provinces and cities, Hanoi, Thai Nguyen, Phu Tho, Nghe An, Nha Trang, Tay Nguyen, Da Nang, Dong Nai, Can Tho, Ho Chi Minh and some military academies and schools in remote areas and islands.
