Vietnam - Russia Tropical Center partners with GDT in military technical work

GDT Director Lieutenant General Tran Minh Duc and the center’s General Director Major General Dang Hong Trien chaired the signing conference.

At the conference, delegates heard reports on the outcomes of the center’ scientific research and technology transfer activities to serve the technical work, and the preparation and a briefing on the two sides’ coordination program in the target period.

In particular, the Vietnam - Russia Tropical Center has actively and proactively done scientific and technical research with different topics, effectively supporting the work to ensure technical services for units in the whole military.

Over the past time, the center has researched, tested and evaluated the tropical durability of materiel, and assessed the impact of tropical climate on the status of weapons and technical equipment. It has also proposed advanced protection and exploitation methods, developed and manufactured specific military materials and supplies. In addition, it has developed technologies to improve the tropical durability of materiel, such as tropicalization technology, dry gas technology, and storage and preservation technology without using grease.

Under the signed program with Generals Duc and Trien as signatories, the two sides will focus their coordination on four key areas, namely doing scientific research in service of assurance of technical conditions of materiel; testing and evaluating the quality of the center's scientific research projects; producing and supplying materiel and scientific and technical services; and giving support to upgrade technical facilities for research, production and testing.
