General Cuong requested MR5’s Party Organization to continue thoroughly grasping and strictly implementing the guidelines and directives of the Party, the Central Military Commission, and the Ministry of National Defense, particularly Resolution No.8 of the 13th Party Central Committee on the strategy for national defense in the new situation, as well as related resolutions, strategies, and projects on military, defense, and national protection.

He emphasized the need to grasp situations, especially in key border, sea, and island areas; maintain strict combat readiness; provide timely and effective advice to handle circumstances in a timely and effective manner to firmly protect sovereignty; and closely coordinate with other forces to maintain security and order, while effectively responding to non-traditional security challenges.

He further required continued renewal and improvement of the quality of training, exercises, and combat readiness of the MR5’s armed forces to meet the requirements of defending the Fatherland in the new era.

The defense leader also requested the MR to focus on building politically-, ideologically-, ethically-, organizationally-, and personnel-strong Party committees and organizations at all levels. Attention must be paid to building Party committees and cells with strong combat capabilities, exemplary in implementing the Party’s and CMC’s regulations on Party building and rectification, in close association with promoting the movement of studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality, and style, other campaigns and the “Determined to Win” emulation movement.
